My standard 1150 had one on. The reason was, have you ever tried getting fuel in riral France on Sunday? It is impossible. You have to go to town or find a peage service station. The 41-litre tank, remember to fill up on Saturday pm and you know you are fine for the morrow!
There is also a benefit to handling, because the extra fuel capacity is in the low wing sections, lowering the C of G over a standard tank - so despite weighing more the bike actually became more planted, it was noticable. The bike was snapped up when I put it for sale.
Is that a small scratch I see there.... it looks even better on the bike

I may now be sorted - thanks gents - UKGSer to the rescue again...
Hopefully getting it painted for fitting to Lady Penelope in best SE Alpine White/Blue satin, by the redoubtable Tunner and should be ready for Alaska 2016
I'll probably fall off and break a feckin ankle within 100 yards now... doh!
