My standard 1150 had one on. The reason was, have you ever tried getting fuel in riral France on Sunday? It is impossible. You have to go to town or find a peage service station. The 41-litre tank, remember to fill up on Saturday pm and you know you are fine for the morrow!

There is also a benefit to handling, because the extra fuel capacity is in the low wing sections, lowering the C of G over a standard tank - so despite weighing more the bike actually became more planted, it was noticable. The bike was snapped up when I put it for sale.

I shall keep my eyes out :)

That might have been me with a hammer during the "straight forward bolting on" that took most of the day....

Ah, at least I now know where to go should I experience any problems fitting mine. Did you fit the fuel pump extension pipework as well Vern? ;):D

I may now be sorted - thanks gents - UKGSer to the rescue again...

Hopefully getting it painted for fitting to Lady Penelope in best SE Alpine White/Blue satin, by the redoubtable Tunner and should be ready for Alaska 2016 :)

I'll probably fall off and break a feckin ankle within 100 yards now... doh!

Nice one, but if you do fall off you'll never pick it up again !

Is your missus aware that she'll now be doing 500 miles between stops:D

Never mind all this Blue & White nonsense, it needs to be Green White & Gold with some nice shamrocks & harps.
:aidan

Edit: Or a lovely deep red with hammer & sickle.

I never got more than 350... :eek

375 :thumb2 the one and only time I ever ran out of fuel :( was in France and the first bike that stopped happened to be a UK biker I knew. He kindly did a big round trip to find me fuel and it turned out to be his birthday so we went to a restaurant and celebrated together.

Funny how things work out sometimes
