I've just fitted this screen bracket to my bike: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285919768870.
No fitting instructions came with the bracket set.

I've got a problem: the slotted brackets bolted to the screen are both about 13mm outside the struts which they are supposed to be attached by thumb screws. So either the screen brackets are about 26mm too far apart, or the fixing points for the struts (the same fixing points as the BMW sat nav bar), are 26mm too close together. I've used washers to fill the gaps, and it seems to work, but it can't be right. Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong?

there is a picture here
Thanks, but the bike in the pic doesn’t look like an R1250GS or a late R1200GS with TFT screen.

The mounting points of the sat nav bar on my bike are 12mm closer to he centre of the bike than seems to be the case on the bike shown in the picture.

I don’t think I can post pics here, I’m afraid.

I don't necessarily think its anything you've done. I've got the givi equivalent that came with a screen i ordered. That came with a spacer about half the size your quoting, i assumed it was because of the tight space the brackets had to fit when you look at the area these things fit into.

If it works and your happy i'd just order some different spacers. Being a clumsy oaf i managed to lose my givi spacer one day for it never to be found again so i just ordered some plastic ones off ebay that were near enough and i'm happy enough.

Top tip.......... i have a habit of not tightening the thumb screws on occasions and there's a risk of them working loose never to be seen again when your on the road. If you have enough thread on the thumb screws i'd recommend a nyloc nut on the end just in case. Thats what i've done and its saved me a few times.

Thanks Bt.

Last night I ordered spacers and longer thumb screws with the intention of using nylon on the ends. Great minds…etc., etc.
