Hi folks
I`ve just ordered & got my new set of rear pads, 13500 miles & 2mm ish left if anyone is interested :nenau, and they are HH ones. will these be ok to use with the standard pads on the front or will I find the much better braking rear trying to swap ends with the front.

Any ideas before I fit them & be scared for the first 100 miles :D

Been using EBC HH pads for the last 5000 miles and have noticed any increased stopping power on the back. They don't seem to wear as fast as the BmW pads that NoG put in. I will be changing the front pads soon and will put HH in.

Keep us posted later on about your EBC HH pads.
Because I was thinking to get them myself and I'd like some feedback.
Cheers
Fredo.

ok :thumb2
I`ve had them on for a couple of months & can`t tell the difference from the BM pads. I`ll have to wait & see about wear rates though but if they last as long as the last ones I`ll report back in a couple of years!

ebc brake pads

I used these on my old 1100gs for many years changed to them because BMW pads were so expensive.

The only thing that happened whilst using these was the offside disc became loose at the fixings had this inspected by JC they found that the holes in the wheel its self had elongated along with those on the disc which in turn required the wheel needing to be replaced.

Done a quick check with other dealers to see if this was a common problem all said that they knew of the bolt holes on the disc elongating but never the holes for the disc on the wheel. Never happened on the nearside disc!

So i do not know if the cause was the EBC pads or not as the bike is now in bike heaven.

If anyone else has had this happen with EBC pads or otherwise I would like to hear from you.:thumb2

I have already used a set of EBC HH and I am on my 2nd set. There was a noticeable improvement with the HH pads from an already good brake system. I have used them on all my previous bikes too. No problems here.

People say the discs wear down faster from the more aggressive pad. Could be true but I think the increased wear is negligible and is not an issue for me.

I used HH on both front and rear of my 1150's, maybe did 100k miles between them. Like others I chose them based on cost but also I was hoping for even better brakes. It gave me:

1) a smaller hole in my wallet
2) sharper brakes for about 500miles after that they seemed no better than the BM' ones - maybe I just got used to them.
3) longer intervals between replacement
4) no obvious problems or accelerated disk wear

Just for comparison I'm using 'ordinary' EBC pads on the rear of my 1200 to replace the astonishingly fast wearing BM pads. They last about 1.5 times longer and are half the price, again no difference in 'feel' from standard wet or dry, or any sense of imbalance front to back.

I use them in my Rear wheel, since I hade to change the OE at 20.000 kms (second change since new) and they are still Ok at 45.000 kms. Disc is also in good shape. It´s a good product, but expensive in Spain (around 60€).

Been using HH pads on my 1200 for 24'000 mls now. I've been using sintered pads on every bike I've had since dicovering Dunlopads in 1988 :thumb2

The only disc I've worn out is the 1200 rear 'like I wasn't expecting that'
