Ebike prices are being slashed, big style
Nobody buying, in this economic climate.......................just goes to show how much 'margin' is being trousered if they can discount them by 30-50%
No way do the cost of bicycle components add up to a RRP of £7-£10k when you can buy a nice motorbike for that price and it's way more complex than a eMTB

Lots of bike prices are being slashed, not just e-bikes. 2020-21 loads went out and bought a bike, stocks in stores became an issue...prices rose. Stores (over) ordered for the following year hoping/expecting for another bumper year.

70% off !!

Non e-bike

Maybe a mod could merge this thread with the one already running...that JB typed his opening comment on too?

Agreed on bike prices Davy B , Kona in USA are doing buy one get second one free on bikes upto $7000 !

Went into my LBS on Monday sales guy said Raleigh are discounting 50% to clear 2023 stocks.

Its a really tough time to be in cycle retailing now

I recently purchased a Whyte Coniston (half price) ostensibly to get me to my little bits of part time graft (in my case working as a crew member on gigs in Newcastle/Gateshead/North-East area).
To say I’m pleased with it would be the understatement of the year, I’m completely blown away. You still get a decent workout (I’m 62 and a half), but it takes all the pain out of even the steepest hills. I’ve also done some light off road stuff on it and it’s like being a teenager again. A lot of people using cars to commute could probably get way with an e-bike…..it’s definitely worth considering and has become my everyday transport option.

Any examples anywhere?

Specialized Harrogate, I was in there on Tuesday
Carbon S Works Levo MTB - RRP £14450
Sale Price £8499
Plenty of others were 40-50% off RRP for the Levo and Vado ranges

I’ve recently bought one of these, 2yr warranty, decent spec kit fitted with highest power battery for £1500, what on earth makes the Specialised worth 10 times the price of mine!!! £14k for a pushbike😱.

Prices will soon be up again with the Red Sea drama courtesy of the Houthis...About 12% of global trade passes through the Red Sea, including 30% of global container traffic. Billions of dollars of traded goods and supplies pass through the Red Sea every year, meaning that delays there can affect petrol prices, the availability of electronics and other aspects of global trade.
