Hi all,
A good friend and myself have now set off on a trip around the coast of Europe. We have around 16000 miles planned and will be covering as mentioned above the coast of Europe, including France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Albania, Greece, Turkey, Ukraine, Belarus, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Russia and then most of Scandinavia! It's an endurance test more than anything else!
I bought my first GS (and indeed first bike!) last October and my friend has a 600 Fazer.
We set off on the 4th Feb in rather beautiful, but snowy conditions down to the Euro tunnel. We have hit Portugal already and have racked up 2400miles. Both bikes are performing admirably at the moment! (touch wood)
The GS is tearing through oil like no tomorrow, about a quarter liter every 2-3days and I have had some amazing fun on it, especially in the last couple of days in Portugal. (Porto to Estoril and Estoril to Sagres)
Our trip is being cover on the following blog, http://edandjames.travellerspoint.com/ which we are updating everyday with text and photos.
I´d like to thank a couple of you guys on here, Tom(Noiseboy) for the top box, which is excellent, Bryn for the GS top box bracket for which I haven paid for yet! and Val for some excellent muffs! Sorted me out for the first bit of the trip in Northern France!
Our route is on the blog and would be good if there are any other fellow GSerś around certain areas to meet up with for a beer at any point!!
Happy and safe riding,
Ed
