Edinburgh bike show. Acomadation

Probley in wrong place but I'm looking for some advice on acomadation on the 11/3 and 12/3 near the airport and the show. I'm flying in on Friday evening and will have my 16 year old daughter and 13 year old son with me. I'd like a big room that would give some privacy for Helen. She wouldn't be comfortable in a separate room as in going on the corridor on her own but would be quite happy in a room or alcove off our room. Maby a long shot but here goes. JJH
 
We have friends who live in Edinburgh. I'll give them a shout and see if they can recommend any guest houses or B&B's with adjoining rooms or something similar that might fit the bill

No idea of room sizes but there's at least 3 hotels within walking distance of the airport and where the bike show is. Premier Inn travelodge and a Hilton. There is another one but I can't remember it's name. I know the Hilton will do family rooms but it will cost you. There isn't a lot else round the area but failing that you could also use our wonderful new tram system and go into the city. Takes about 15-20 mins from airport to city centre which is probably about the only good thing about it. Not a bad effort for a billion quid really!
 
Craigievar B&B is on Glasgow Rd about 5 minutes from the airport. Apparently it is very clean, has huge rooms and is run by lovely people.

This is the only one they have any knowledge of (used by friends in the past), but they did say there are tons of guest houses and B&B's if you look on t'interweb and they are generally much cheaper than the chain hotels.

Hope you find something that works for you.

P.S. We go up to Edinburgh quite often (going again last week in Jan) and it's a lovely city with tons to do. Definitely worth getting into the city for a day if you can fit it in

I've stayed at the Premier Inn a few times which is just down the road , it is clean and modern and you get a decent nights sleep and the restaurant is okay , same with the Travelodge which is on Glasgow Road, there is also a Hilton on site and one other but haven't stayed at either
 
The Marriot is near the airport - quite nice as I recall too & next to the tram stop (south Gyle?) with the Gyle shopping park a short stroll if that keeps the girls happy.

Holiday Inn, which can at times be more expensive than the Hilton.

I'm going with the kids because we missed Birmingham due to the weather and I cannot afford to go to London. Flights are about the same or a little dearer it's getting to the show trains and tube. Of course we could fly into London city docklands but that's Cityjet not Ryanair. So basically it's just trip for us. JJH

I've stopped in Dunfermline, and Stirling as the prices were way better, and there was something to look around in the rest of the day after going around the show half a dozen times.

It used to be much, much better in the late 90's and the beginning of the 2000's. Either that or I've got much more jaded with age.
