Went this year, fourth time I've been in my life and it's still as good as ever. Makes me damn proud to see them out there, doing the country proud in front of all of our visitors, t'was bloody good as I said and always brings a tear to my eye.....

How fantastic is it to have probably the finest castle in the world as a backdrop to your event.....

a few photos and vids for you....my recommendation is, if you haven't been, go, but book up a year in advance.....

That was the Royal Tournament (now sadly done away with but I believe that the Matelots keep the traditions of the Relief of Ladysmith alive by doing 'Field Gun' in house).

I remember going to see something at the castle when ah wiz a wee boy and just assumed it was the Tatoo.

Just managed to get a decent connection to view the video footage - still makes me shiver watching them play "Black Bear" on the PC.

Do a search on Youtube - you'll probably not find a better bit of footage of that, than the one old Garfield took.

I'm looking forward to going next week. Sisters bought tickets a long time ago so I'll be interested to see how my relations from Londonshire enjoy the show. My daughter went last night and it rained most of the time, but she said it was brill. Haven't been for years and the saw the original James Bond Aston when I was a kid. Great stuff. Thanks for the preview
