hi guys, usually take a day trip over to the show and use up stena lines good offer of 25 pound return trip.
i see on the bike show website there is no bmw stand. surely this cant be true with there new gs model coming out. can anybody shed any light. thanks again............

That'd be the first year in a long time there wasn't a BMW stand, but the stand is run by Motorrad Central in the past, so perhaps it isn't warranted.

Maybe they think the new bike is selling nicely enough - without the expense of going to the show?

Wouldn't surprise me.

Al

You could maybe try emailing Motorrad Central at Dalkeith. They should be able to tell you.

Edinburgh show

Never seen the point of paying for something I can see for free in the shops...:flag

Worth the admission fee if you are after say a new lid or boots. In my experience there are far better deals done at shows that at the outlet or on-line.:)

A lot of the stuff on sale at bike shows is stuff you don't need or want. Obscure 'brands' of dubious quality trailled around the country for god knows how long before someone buys it. Niche suppliers of more interesting products (Touratech, etc) never at the Scottish show as the costs does not justify the potential sales.

Generally found better deals on line or waiting to the end of season sale at my local BMW dealer.

Agree but its a good day out (generally). If you are expecting to much you will be disapointed but if you just want a day out chatting about bikes its fine. I'll be going this year if I'm not offshore:thumb2

i enjoy it for the day out and can tie up with a friend that now lives in lennoxtown. as long as there is no snow.:( the cheap boat fares are magic use them quite often in the summer.

Okay. If you are looking for say a Shoei Neotec. Online everyone is about £470. Best price i got quote over the phone was £420. At NEC live best price was £330. Also couple years back i was after TCX infinity boot. Everywhere £200. Bought them at the Edinburgh show for £160. So if you know what you are looking for and have done some research. There are savings to me made. Agreed though there is a lot of dross at the shows.

Motorrad Dalkeith are 'launching' the new GS on the 2nd March, a week before the Edinburgh show.
As they were not at 2012's show I asked at the dealer if they would be at the 2013 show, reply was "depends on BMW, if they will pay" ?? So still don't know if they will be or not.:nenau:nenau
