editing threads

stupid question probably, but how do I edit my thread?, eg this one:

to update it, etc., so that the first part of the post is more relevant to , er, readers of it ?

I've done a test thread http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=180164 , which allowed me to edit initially, but won't now.

Am I overlooking the bleedin' obvious (again) ?

The edit function ...

... is only available for a set period of time after the initial posting; after that you'll have to try and arouse a Mod

oh plop. May want to fiddle around with listing, to make it shorter - can't really expect a mod to do that for me. Will leave as is fttb.

Why not copy and paste your original post into another new thread, do your alterations and fiddling and then post it.

You will then need to delete your original thread... Simple

yeah, that was my alternative plan - I was just trying to avoid an entirely new thread, but that's got to make sense.... when i get round to it
