Had a few errands to do on Friday so decided it would be quicker to get them done on my moto.

On the way home I decided to fill up with fuel and a hot chocolate, so I pulled into the Texaco service station at the Merrion Gates.

Now anyone that knows this service station will know that there is always a spot to park, even at it's busiest time.

The station was completely empty except for a car in the new car wash, to my absolute amazement the elderly lady in that car decided it would be best to park (badly)as close as she could to my moto. :eek

She struggled to get out of the car as her door was hitting off my side case, and to top it off, she gave me a look of complete satisfaction that made me feel that I had parked in a manner that was very inconsiderate to others. I actually considered moving me bike.

Should the more mature driver complete a competency test on a regular basis:nenau:nenau

Typical!!!!!! Why didn't you park in the middle of the bay? Inconsiderate is all I can say. Poor old dear had to struggle because you couldn't be bothered to park properly. Bloody youth of today:D

I was sitting in the car last week in Rathfarnham shopping centre when i felt a bump as somebody hit the car. I got out and had a look and luckily there was no damage. When the old codger who hit me got out of his car, he was about 70 and about 25 stone. I told him very politely he had hit me. He then launched into a tirade of abuse, denying he had hit me, and using the most foul language. He was certainly the most obnoxious character I have come across in a long time. I felt sorry for his poor wife, she could not look me in the eye!

I think if you had put your bike on the center stand the old lady would have had more room to open the door, lol.:beerjug:

know how you feel mate, some people shocld not be allowed drive.

had a an old man park his car in front of mine in a hotel. had go into reception to go and ask who owned the car, he wandered out and tried to get thick with me for disturbing him. just kindly told him that he was lucky he didnt have his car slashed scraped and mirrors broken for being such a dick

Never mind the oul codgers. There's nothing worse than baldy builder ballixes who have mobile phones but don't bother carrying them about with them so you have to leave voicemail which they don't pick up so you have to ring them again only to get the same recorded message about leaving voicemail that they won't respond to either. Hoors. :rob :augie

:D:D

iv just had a woman trying to tell me i blocked her property, (no drop downs at all on the kerb , so no drive, ) and its "illegal to park there":rob , apparently you arnt allowed????, no signs or anything, no corners near and not blocking anything,,,
its illegal cos she says so, apparantly,:blast

Blocked many a passage without complaint but I tend to park it right up the middle. Sometimes there is a little space both sides

i live near a mobile hazard that fit the description all too well. :blast

Elderly Driver Kills 23 While Parking

March 30, 2009 by DocHopper

elderly driver 289x300 Elderly Driver Kills 23 While ParkingPolice in Redondo Beach, California were reporting today that a 78 year old driver killed 23 and injured 41 others while attempting to park her vehicle inside a bank. Sergeant Fred Markman said that the incident began when Justine Weaver crashed through the front doors of New Lincoln Savings on First Avenue in her 1985 Oldsmobile, mowing down customers waiting on line to withdraw their savings from the failed institution. “She mistook the accelerator, for the brake pedal”, he said, adding that the driver compounded the problem by attempting to parallel park the car once she had reached the New Accounts desk. Mrs. Weaver, who was not injured in the incident, said that she has often had trouble with this particular car “because the go and stop pedals are right next to each other.” She went on to say that she lost concentration during the parking manuever because of all the screaming. “I had my windows down and some young fellow under my left front tire was hollering really vile things. I don’t understand why he wasn’t arrested on the spot”. Authorities said that as she was unable to find sufficient room to park, the driver next crashed the car through the exit doors and drove off a small embankment causing the car to stall. According to the Department of Transportation, several hundred people are killed each year by drivers over the age of 70 who “don’t know their ass from their elbow.”

Should the scruffy biker not have parked in the middle of the box & put it on the centre stand ? Inconsiderate hoor....

:augie

now you should know better:rob

you never park in the middle, cause if ya do you'll find two mature drivers parking on either side of ya and banging off both side cases:D

AND . .

. .what about the hoors who won't walk, the not so elderly, they would drive down the aisles of supermarkets to collect their shopping if they could. Obese, did you say? is it any wonder?

Jockser and I were at a filling station the other day, standing outside having a mug of tae and a woman pulled in at the cash dispenser. After getting her money she drove the forty feet from the cash point to the front door of the shop where she abandoned the car to go inside. :blast :eek

But at least the bike would be well balanced (ding on either side), unlike the rider :D

Think I'd do the same thing if I saw two dodgy looking bikers at a filling station:D
