Hi there,
Who knew that I-ABS and heated grips were linked?
This is happening on a 2003 Swiss model 1150GS fitted with Integral ABS, which was in the shed for a brake hose replacement, the fitting of a Gemi chip, the installation of Lennie's sprockets and the famous biodegradable handlebar sheaths change (which is sooo easy on these bikes).
When it came in, everything was fine.
Now, bike starts and runs well, but with no ABS on front or rear wheel, and no heating grips. Sometimes the rear circuit of the ABS whines all the time, even at just turning the key. I started with topping up the fluid in both circuits of the ABS modul, a very few was missing, but no change.
Rear stop light switch is not stuck in mud and is clicking, front one is also clicking.
And both heating grips are not heating anymore, even if not disconnected under the tank during the job, and ABS sometimes whines
I said sometimes, because :
Any idea?

I said sometimes, because :
- If I turn the ignition on with heated grips off, the 2 ABS lights come on. The one on the top blinks quickly, the lower just light on. Then the upper one blinks slowly and the lower on goes off.
- If I turn the ignition on with heated grips on first position, the 2 ABS lights come on. The one on the top goes fast, the lower one goes quickly (2 or 3 seconds) then off with a very short whine. Then the top one stays on without flashing.
- If I turn the ignition on with heated grips on second position, only the top light comes on all the time and the ABS is whining continuously.
Any idea?
