Wanted Electric or plug in hybrid

BMW i3
Great little cars. If you get the range extender models then your mileage needs are covered. I have just bought the battery only model for local journeys.

My Polestar 2 goes back next week after 2 years and it's been great. My wife had a Volvo EX30 but we had no end of problems with it - we kept it about 18 months before admitting defeat and she went back to an Audi petrol, cost us about £18,000! I've ordered a Skoda Enyaq as my replacement, as someone has already mentioned it makes a lot of sense to lease an electric car - no capital outlay and the payments are probably equal to, or even less, than the depreciation, especially if you're buying new.

Just had my old chum from Italy visit, he bought a Tesla when it was a couple of years old not sure of model but it included free for life Supercharging, he's now covered over 250,000km and battery has lost 18% of capacity but still enough for driving round and about Milan, uses about 20% going to the lakes.

Is it still possible to find sh Teslas with the life time offer?

Yes it is.

Having had my Hyundai Ioniq5 for three years and 60,000 miles, I can state they work and do what you need them to.

Its a full battery EV and has 240 mile range at 90% charge (now, in May). I found these used examples near Ipswich.
Which variant of (used) ioniq 5 would you recommend?

Another vote for Ioniq 5 and Toyota Hybrid Cross. Great cars.

I would go fully electric, and consider an MG,very good value and the new models they added this year are very well specced.

Thank you all for your suggestions time to go looking at some dealers

Totally agree, although my leased MY26 Volvo EX30 hasn’t been any trouble at all. The Enyaq is great and only reason I didn’t go for one is the fact it’s RWD.

Toyota Corolla GT Sport hatchback or estate would be my shout. Decent enough performer, very nice handling thing and smooth as a buttery thing to drive. Great boot space too in compact estate form. Excellent economy from the hybrid lump too.

Should be able to get a good deal on a Tesla as there seems to be 50,000 that no one wants in a field
