electric trike: anybody got an opinion?

I thought road bikes must be 250W max, plus thumb throttle is not legal (was pre-2014ish)?

Although look at any food delivery guy - 3000W homebuilt with throttle. Cops never see them - must also have a Invisibility button too.

Trike looks fun, and a great price, though.
yes that's right but he isn't bothered about that and judging by the huge amount of illegal electric bikes scooters on the road the cops aren't bothered either

Despite it likely being illegal, there's a world of difference between a Just Eat rider hammering up the high street (the wrong way) 25mph and the OP pottering about on a trike. (speeding's illegal, we all do it...we seem to pick and choose which laws we break...most of us make the right choices)

To be fair, most of us choose the time and place where we feel we are unlikely to have an accident, injure ourselves or others, or get prosecuted. As you say, mostly it’s ok.

A casual worker (who may, or may not, have the right of abode, and to work in the UK) hammering up the (possibly pedestrianised) High St on a motor vehicle which is non compliant does not really meet those criteria.

Perhaps there should be some kind of organisation that prosecutes people who do that. Oh, hang on…

Eh...that's pretty much what I posted....you've just used twice as many words.....

I used an ICE trike to help me rehab from a stroke, it gave me some extra mobility and Excercise. ICEare based in Cornwall using Bosch and shimano e bike kits. Depending on the terrain and your fitness do Mid 20s on a battery charge. Pretty stable, very quick ( 40 mph down local hill)
The downside is that are not cheap, but are available second hand. Much recommended mine is sold now so am riding a Grinnall trike based on a 1150 BMW

Whilst I've not needed to look for a trike before, the Jorvik ones look very well built.

Light offroading and folding versions as well.
