Electrical connectors - single wire

Looking for a tip from those off you more up to speed with the electrics.

I'm tidying up the wiring to my PDM60 unit that lives under my seat.

In short, your accessory can earth anywhere you like, but the power will come via the PDM, so this (normally) means just a single wire to connect.

Are there any neat single wire connectors out there, perhaps in the vein of Molex connectors or Deutsch connectors?

I think I missed an important detail. I want a connection that can be disconnected/reconnected, therefore a plug/socket arrangement.

What they do have and I didn't bump into anywhere else are the Super Seal connectors with single wire. I'm not mad keen on those, but they might actually do the job.

There again, I have a Wago connector on the Thunderbox under the seat of my Himalayan, which is totally unwaterproofed. It is (touch wood) fine.

I guess it depends on how wet you expect the connector to become in use and / or how regularly you intend to decouple it.

With the Thunderbox, it and its Wago connectors seem quite happy sat out under the seat with no additional protection. With the USB power supply upfront and an SAE (non-waterproof) connector to run 12 bolts into my tankbag, I simply wrapped the connections in self-amalgamating tape, as I wasn’t going to be disconnecting them everyday, if ever.

I guess you won’t be de-coupling the PDM60 every five minutes? If so, a very basic connector with a bit of self-amalgamating tape, would probably do just as well. With the live connector, you are safeguarding against accidental shorts, as much as anything else.

Not seen the Thunderbox. Looks much like the PDM60, bit much cheaper! Had mine for a while now, but I think this looks like a better contender.

You're right, these connections will just sit quietly undisturbed for who knows how long. But I was trying to build a single, unified connection point, ready for connections, under the little tool tray that's under the seat. I've printed a little chassis for it which allows the unit to sit flush and exposed with the tray bottom (so the lights are visible), but allowing access to the socket in the bottom of the PDM for programming (a small drawback of the design, probably easier on alternatives!). But because I'll have to lift out the tray, I'd originally thought of a bank of plugs.

I like the look of the gel connectors as they look like they will survive a handful of open/close cycles, which is all I need. And no soldering either!

Not seen the Thunderbox.

Me neither. Looks neat.
Currently only using the OEM aux socket for GPS + I have charging leads (Optimate) on an secondary mini-DIM socket directly to the battery.
But was considering adding an USB socket on the bike and this could help keeping things "clean".

I've used Super Seal connectors for years and never had any problem riding through lots of winters. Unless you're going to be riding submerged you won't have any problem with them.
