I'm after a bit of advice as to where to power a couple of small "chav" lights from.

I have two x 1.5W LEDs to go on my handguards and am toying between extending the sidelight circuit by breaking in to the load resistor extension I have or powering them from the sat nav socket. This is currently powering a Zumo 660 and it will be easiest to re-solder that connector.

Any informed opinions which is best to use.

Thanks in advance....Rob

Rear lamp will be just as fussy as sidelight. it's the LAMPR warning rather than LAMPF, so similar current monitoring going on.

take the feed from the front side lamp,i have 2 micro flooter led markers and have no lampf probs

Current draw is very low. So try tapping into any switched live on the bike i.e. headlight / GPS feed.

If that is too much for the Canbus, then fit a relay such that it is
a) powered from the battery, and
b) triggered by the feed you tried already.
