Hi, I recently bought a 2000 DR 125 SEY. It needs work but took it for a short run before stripping it down, I got a couple of miles in before it blew the main fuse. After stripping it down the wiring is a mess, but what I would like some guidance with is in the photo. There are seven wires leaving the generator but only two are in use (blue & green and blue), can anyone throw some light on why this might be and what the two wires are currently doing? All the lights and indicators were working with the current set up. Thanks in advance.

what colour wires do they link into in the main loom??

So phase and earth AC into the loom and connecting to the rectifier for rectified and regulated 12 V DC output

I would love to know what the others are connected to down at the stator ???:oops::oops:

Normally you can have up to 3 phases and a common earth
a battery light (extinguishes when charging!)

Those colours do not look right should be at least 3 yellow to reg/rect are you sure no other joints along the harness to stator ?
it would not be charging the battery no other wires from the stator ? does the bike have battery fitted ?

Sorry read everything worked was battery charging ?

Thanks for the replies. My fear is its wired not to recharge the battery, I didn't run it long enough to find out unfortunately. I'm stripping all the sleeving off the wires over the next few days to see what's going where and I'll feed back.

Looks fairly butchered , if you go online with the model number you should be able to get a pdf of the wiring diagram,
