Alarms? When was the last time anyone cared if a house alarm of car alarm was going off?
If you want some peace of mind, get a good tracker installed.
did you watch the rather gory three programme accident investigation unit finding's on Ch5 in October - you may wish to remove your tracker immediately - the modern ones do not just track its parked location - it provides not just the speed and exact time of use - but even the specific line you are taking through every bend for the preceeding 30 minutes
a silly grandad in a Toyota pulled out knocking off a biker....
the police decided as the biker basically lost a leg they would not prosecute him - but they had him with his mates racing around - at times doing something like 120mph for 5 miles just before the incident - as he entered a built up area, he came in at about 85 and as is the norm most 60 limits are now bastardised into something silly... at the time of the hit he was doing 55mph and “luckily” glanced of the side and was thrown up the road summersaulting into a wall
sure he was doing what most men do - getting on with it - and he failed to slow enough in a built up area and lets say was 50% at blame for the crash - had he been doing 45 in the 30 limit (that should still be a 60) he would have missed the car
however it doesn't give sleepy grandad the right to recklessly pull out without looking and get away with it – the best bit, the police in not prosecuting the silly fool that caused it claimed he was on his side of the road….
Err NO – he was 100% across the path of the bike when it mattered – the biker tried to react got a wobble on, ran wide towards the middle of the road and hit the side / rear wheel of the Toyota - when he hit it the back of the car was two foot on the bikers side – sure after the hit the Toyota was now at an angle on his side….
Without the tracker the story would be different - the fact it picks you up in a safe place, riding sensibly - but the numbers are above a silly value - gives plod the ammunition to go to tea early and fail to do their job - get your tracker and smash it up ASAP – or you and your partner will be worse off
