I posted a couple of weeks back that my son and I stopped a break in to our garage, while they were trying to nick my GS but they had already had it away with the XCountry, which we recovered later with damaged ignition switch and missing clocks.
I have replaced the clocks, they turned up in a neighbours garden, and have for now I have put a simple switch in place of the normal ignition. I have a fully charged battery and checked all the fuses, but it will not start or show any sign of electrical life.
I am stumped.
There is power through my new ignition switch, and at the rear fuse box under the seat, but not at the two fuses under the right hand side of the dummy fuel tank.
So first question, is there a fuse box other than those two mentioned that I am missing?
If not has anyone any ideas on where to look next for a fault. I have followed the wiring by eye and cannot see any obvious problems. I don't have a wiring diagram and have assumed that the two wires that used to go through the ignition switch are normally connected to each other by turning the key and that only those two wires enter the ignition switch. Is that correct?
Additional information. When I connected the clocks to the multi pin socket, the clocks went through a normal looking self check sequence with the ignition off. At the end of that sequence they switch off and show no sign of life with the ignition on or off.
