Guys,
Well I suppose that is sexist in todays terms so I invite any of you, be you ladies or gentlemen or persons of any indeterminate persausion to advise me on the best way of wiring up a Garmin 2810 purchased courtesy of my mother who has a morbid fear of paying Inheritance Tax to the Inland Revenue or even to my 1150GS.
A wild assumption on my part tells me I could wire it direct to the battery given that it has an in line fuse but I rather fear that you better
I await your advice
Matt

personally, i wire them straight across the battery with an in line fuse. i can take the fuse out when not used for any length of time.

others will tell you it should be switched with the ignition, but i like to use the gps when stopped with the ignition off.

works for me on 5 bikes now :)

Seconded!

not sure whether your connection "tab" is the same as Streetpilot 1111, but www.gpsw.co.uk may be able to help. They have their own version wiring to the battery with an in line fuse.

I suspect you could also wire into ignition.

(ever so diplomatic, me)

Pat

Thanks for the replies, I wired it up to the battery so I can have it on when the ignition is off. Fitted and works a treat. Just reread my original post and thought it was quite evident that the wine was having an effect.
