A couple of days ago I stopped being able to send or receive any emails, when I tried to do either I was asked for my Yahoo password. As my account was set up so as not to require entering the password I couldn't find or remember it but Yahoo eventually got me sorted, and all is well with my account on my PC.

However, I'm still having trouble with my emails on my iPad. That asks for my password, I enter the new one and then it says "Password Missing" and tells me again to enter the password for my Yahoo account, "MFDomainMessageError 1032"

Where do I go from here?

Edit: forgot to say that at about 4am on the day it started misbehaving it sent some daft emails about earning spare cash by working from home to five people in my address book on my PC, the strange thing was they were sent from my iPad, not my PC.

From google

Quit the mail app completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Then repeat the steps above if you still cannot get your mail.

Wow! Great, that was quick!

How do I Quit the mail app completely on the iPad? I think I reboot it by holding the on/off switch for a few seconds, is that right? I haven't tried anything yet in case I eff it all up, but I should be able to stay in touch with you on my PC in the meantime.

polecat Thank you, thank you.

I'm sorry to have seemed so thick, I didn't realise that you were actually explaining how to "quit the mail app completely", I thought I had to do that first and afterwards follow those instructions and ... Feckit I actually was being thick, obviously. :blast

Anyhow, it all came good as soon as I rebooted, the emails showed up in my Inbox and I just sent an email to myself. Life is good.

I thank you. :beerjug:

Another quickie before I go- has the security of my email account been compromised in view of the phantom emails above?

Interesting - my wife recently had the identical problem on her iPad (inc the same emails) She reported it to Yahoo and ten days later they replied saying that the issue should now have disappeared, and it had, with no obvious input from herself

As she does not use a PC I'm wondering if there is any link to her FaceBook account?
