just been thinking about moving to scotland, always loved it there, what is the job situation like? fed up of living in a city again, bike was stolen a week ago, managed to get it back luckily, so am thinking of moving away, no ties apart from a 8 stone rottweiler, any recommedations where to look? or where to avoid?

Right enough, there are no bike thieves in Scotland :D

I can't think of many rural areas other then the far north, that aren't nice and aren't that far from civilization. You might want to be a bit more specific re your needs

Personally, if money wasn't that much of a concern I'd move to either Braemar or Ballater, Falkland or St Andrews (both in Fife) or Speyside. I can but dream...

To be honest, if you have to ask, and on here, I wouldn't bother. Jobs much the same as rural England, most people live in rural Scotland and work in not so rural Scotland. Unless you are in agriculture or sporting.

Plenty of employment around the Inverness area ,especially if you have any sort of trade .

Those iron curtain types certainly know how to work hard and you should see some of the cabbage patch dolls........!
Aye, but they look like rag dolls when they get old. When did you see a nice looking east European granny. Of course you don't have to keep them that long. :D
