Can anyone advise me as to the best end can I can buy for my R1200GS?
I'd like a better sound than the OE but stay legal.
Are they easy to fit and will the panniers still work? I'm not good at mechanics.:blast

hi Its a very easy job to fit the End can ,Akro's Remus or others are attatched by just the two bolts easily visible and your panniers will fit.You may have to take the nearside pannier rail off if its a touratech/GSA 12 Bmw origonal pannier rail but its all like meccano so no sweat!! They all look and sound great and save some weight! Good luck:thumb2

It's gonna be a very subjective matter - I like the BOS can/system but then I would 'cos I've got one.

The only thing I would say is I (and a few others) have found that the Remus end can makes a very iritating 'drone' sound at cruising speeds that ultimatly becomes quite tiring.

Next time you are Nottingham way give me a shout if you want to hear a BOS system 'in the flesh'.

Fitted a Bos end can yesterday. V. nice piece of kit and well chuffed with it :D

Has a much nicer sound to it than the original, particularly once the throttle is opened :)

Seems also to allow the engine to produce a bit more torque in the mid rev ranges and also a bit more power. Engine also seems to feel less restricted and happier to rev. - mind you need to bear in mind that all this may be the consequence of needing to justify the purchase in the first place.:)

By the way it cost £165 new from eBay. I did think I was getting the chrome version - and that was the coding on the side of the box - but when I opened up it was the carbon one. Initially thought the finish might look a bit odd on a GS but actually very pleased I didn't return it now. :)

Thanks Andres, looked at your photo's from 2006, you got around a bit, was that the Bos end can on the bike?

What did you end up with?

sevenpointsixtwo - am currently looking at the remus / bos systems. probably going for the bos as according to the test done by the German mag. it makes the most power and sounds good. Where did you end up putting your hard earned?
