I know this issue has come up from time to time but: I've just bought some Alpine stars motocross boots (not the expensive Tech 10s which felt like I had my feet in blocks of concrete - but the Tech 3). I've never worn this kind of boot before. They feel very protective but, all ready to ride home from the shop in them and I realise I just cannot get the boot under the now-that-I-look-at-it quite short gear changer of the GS. If the pedal were a couple of inches longer (i.e. sideways) it would be fine. Once home I looked through the Touratech catalogue to see if they made an extended lever. They make bendy levers, and levers further forward but not longer ones. Has anyone here found a product or another solution?
thanks
Michael

If you haven't done so already, pull the rubbers out of the footpegs and then move the gearchange lever up one spline on the shaft. Works for me.....:)

When riding in my Motocross boots i just use the edge of the boot against the gear lever on up changes and move my whole foot to change down. Takes a bit of getting used to but works ok!

You could get the Touratech adjustable lever, which has plenty of adjustability. I have one which for my MX boots I move forward 2 holes and if riding with my road boots back to the standard position. It takes one minute to adjust with an allen key.

I have been wearing MX boots for years and get by OK. when the boots are new I raise the gear lever a bit, but as the boots break in, the gear lever can be moved back down.

It does take some time to break a pair of MX boots in be patient.
I jump from GS to CCM R30, Ducati Monster and CBR800 with out difficulty, only 2 of those bikes are adjusted to suit me, the others are owned by,and adjusted for different people.

My current boots are Alpinestar Tech3.
