I have the standard 1150 and have decided to fit H&B engine bars but it is also my intention to fit (at some stage) an Adventure tank.

What problems am I to anticipate with this combination i.e. fitting? Can I infact fit these bars in combination with this large tank?

Cheers in anticipation of your opinions and advice.

PS
What finishes do the H&B bars come in? I've seen them in black but do they do them in silver?

Steve, Can't answer your tank compatability question (interested in the answer though)..

But the bars do come in silver and they match the engine colour quite well.

Tip: when you fit the front mounting point under the tank, pull the "dash support bar" out and put the engine bar against the frame between the dash bar.. otherwise, the H&B bars get very close to the tank. As for larger tanks.. sorry dont know.. :(

Have the Adventure tank fit on my 1150 and H&B chrome bars - no problem whatsoever!

Well I think Jim proves my worries about this combination are unfounded. Maybe I can have a look at your bike on Saturday. Thanks to everyone else for their (very) prompt replies..........now hands up who wants to help me do it;)

Cheers

5 minute to 3 hours

Too me five mins to fit all the bolts bar the Beeeep of the back one.. on both sides.

Use a jack and block of wood to support the rear subframe as per the lovely instructions i printed off, somewhere on the forums..

In the end both rear botls went back in, but with ressistance on the both, worse on the right side forme.. but i had the others inplace in 5 mins per side.. its just the rear ones..

Steve. If you haven't already found them.... go HERE for the instructions on fitting them.

They are excellent and will save you a lot of hassle.

They do indeed:cool:

I think you'll find the bars fit both sizes of tank, the extra volume is outwards, not in towards the bars:cool:
