Engine bars for GSA

I got my GSA with no engine bars but it came as part of the deal. The dealer promised me Touratec engine bars but Touratec is out of stock and the dealer is now saying that maybe we should look at alternatives if I am in a hurry to get them. Can anyone recommend me some engine bars which offers good protection and isn't too much of a nightmare to remove for services?

i would insist on the BMW ADV bars they cost around £500 if ordered seperatly, you will get £275 easy if you sold them new, then buy what you want and keep the change.. nick

I have Touratech crash bars on my GS and whilst they do their job, the finish is cr@p.

After just two years, most of the black finish has lifted leaving rusting metal on view.

I'll be taking them off this weekend and treating them to a coat of Smoothrite - should do the trick for another couple of years.

Dealer called me Friday morning to say that my Touratec bars arrived. Will be fitted on Tuesday morning. I hope and pray they've got the finish problem sorted on this new batch.
