Engine Bars

I had the Touratech catalogue through the post a few weeks back, and thought I was doing myself a favour by throwing it out. While reading it I seem to remember that the TT upper engine bars/tank protector bars could fit onto the standard BMW engine bars,( bit like the adventure set up ), that are already fitted to my bike.
Having decided retrospectively they may be a good idea, I looked at the TT website and can't find any mention of the bars at all, let alone whether they fit on top of the BMW ones.
Can anyone help me with this?

I'm loking at the 2007 Touratech catalogue now and it doesn't list upper engine bars for the 1200

H&B do upper bars that can be fitted onto existing engine bars and I think SW motech do the same.

I've got H&B lowers on mine and I'm not impressed withthe finish at all. One winter and they are rusting / bubbling! I'm gonna have to take them off this summer and have them blasted & powder coated.

Nothing in my touratech catalogue either. However I did receive a Wunderlich catalogue a few weeks ago and page 90 shows tank protection bars and states "the protector was developed for our own engine protection bars, but will fit the original BMW one as well. We cannot however guarantee fitting issues that stem from the manufacturing tolerances of the original part". Part nos are 8160035 for silver or 8160019 for black. Hope that helps.

Don't buy Wunderlich they are just rebadged Hepco bars that cost extra. I made that mistake and Wunderlich don't even bother to rebox them.

I'll second that. They look just like my Hepco upper & lower bars.
