hello,

awaiting to pick new bike up and pondering which of the following to get for the new toy:

bmw oem engine bars, wunderlich engine bars or hepco & becker engine bars?

i have been trying to search online for the bmw ones so that i can look at them and compare but cannot find them anywhere. i imagine them to be more expensive than the other two, no doubt.

and lastly, are wunderlich and hepco & becker the same? they are both german and the bars looks the same. so i'm presumming that these two are from the same parent company.

reading previous posts here, i'm led to believe the wunderlich and h & b ones are a bugger to fit. does anyone know if the bmw ones are more userfriendly to fit.

or maybe i should just hope for the best that i'll never drop my bike?

your valued pros and cons please. if any of you have pictures of the bmw ones, please post them...

thanks.

I had BMW bars on order from the time I picked up the bike, they never turned up! I then ordered Wunderlich bars and when they arrived I asked SPC to fit them, when I picked up the bike the bars had a H&B sticker on them so I guess they are one and the same.

The bars fit neatly, luckily i've not had the need test them yet!

See ya soon

H&B bars I got were easy to fit. Occasional tap with a wooden mallet needed but no major probs. And I think they look better than the MBW OEM

The BMW ones don't look as sturdy as the H&B (aka Wunderlich). The H&B ones aren't that bad to fit at all - the descriptions you get on this website are very in depth, so that might blow up the problems a bit, but if you've got some sort of mechanical knowledge, it shouldn't be a problem at all.
I went for the H&B ones because they're sturdier and cheaper.

I fited mine (H & B) with no problems, following detailed instruction on a previous post on here.

IMPORTANT to make sure they fit together nicely before trying them on the bike.

Speaking from experience, the BMW engine protection bars DO NOT PROTECT THE ENGINE.

Get some that wrap around.

I'll go with that a complete waste of money you can't even fit cylinder head protectors due to left hand bar being so close to cylinder head.

I'm off to H&B anyone want a set of BMW bars........Going Cheap!
