Hello all.
The left side of my engine around the oil window has a lightly wavy type finish whereas the other side of the engine is much smoother. Is this normal.
The bike is 18 months old, been well looked after and not wintered.
I'd doesn't look like bubbling paint, just more of a slightly rougher cast than the other side.
Oh, can the tyre pressure monitor be switched from Bar to Psi ?

Cheers
Kev

Can the tyre pressure monitor be switched from Bar to Psi ?

Yes, but only via the dealers computer, Best getting it done when your bikes having a service. Same changing the clock from 12 to 24h

I'll have a look at my paintwork tomorrow, but as for the tyre pressures, yes they can be changed to PSI, but only by the dealer with their diagnostics box. (I had mine changed on the PDI before I collected the bke).

They can also change from 12Hr to 24Hr clock setting, degree C to F and extending the self cancel indicators period (from about 300m to about 500m I think).

Use a coffee stirrer to prod the lumpy paint and magnifying glass to watch closely for any movement.

If its solid stop worrying.

If the lumps move the paint has failed and the hidden alloy is merrily rotting away with all sorts of horrors lurking beneath.

Option 1
ignore it. The paint might stay bubbly but unbroken for ages
Option 2
Pick off the loose paint, scrape away the alloy fuzz and prime with 2 pack etch before touching it up in matching paint
Option 3
Sell the bike its obviously rubbish

Had a good prod at it with my finger nail.
Seems rock hard underneath so probably just a rough casting or too much paint that's run slightly. Will keep an eye on it.
