Wunderlich gave me one of their sumpguards for our Iran, Pakistan, India overland trip .... it was a load of shite. With the extra bits to protect the oil filter and inter cooler there must have been about forty (40) separate pieces, tiny countersunk screws, little brackets etc ... it was total junk.
More crap got through, even allowed a small stone to get into the fan housing and while under armed escort in to Quetta, stopped the fan from coming on and overheated ... spitting boiling hot coolant all over the place
I put my original BMW guard (made by Touratech for them) back on as soon as I got home. One piece of alloy, four nuts and one bolt. In over 100,000 miles, including much off road, the stone in the fan has not been repeated with the OEM sumpguard.
