Engine Noise after Service

I have just had my 05 serviced at 36k.

Now under hard accelleration from say 3000 revs for a second or two I have got a knocking noise, sounds a bit like a "pinking" noise you used to get with older cars if the timing was advanced too much.

I asked the technician if the end float and valve clearances were far out and he said that all apart from the top inlet valve were spot on and he only needed to adjust the inlet valve (which was too loose).

I will go back to them but wondered if anyone had any ideas?????

pinking

if its pinking ask them to put the new software into it which will stop the pinking.

I thought these bikes had anti-knock sensors which prevented pinking?

Whatever, it needs to go back for a check. Did they update the software at the last service? If not then clearly there's something else that's been done which is causing the noise and that's what needs sorting.

My '07 GSA had the software update at the last service and now knocks a lot more than prior to the update. I was told that I must have it as if I have a catastrophic failure in the future it would be deemed my fault!
Going in today for a new clutch/seals/casings. Not related but just needed to rant somewhere as it's 10 months old and done 8000 miles.:thedummy

No Software updates were done, but having just thought about this a little more, one thing I overlooked was the fitting of a k&n filter, is this causing a lean burn the the ecu cant compensate for??? I am also running staight through headers they have the o2 sensors still fitted..
