Hi All.
I have seen a thread on this issue on the f800 riders forum, but does not seem to find a similar one on this forum.
From day one I had this strange knocking noise/sound being emitted from the engine between 2000 and 2500 rpm. At first I thought it was the BMW engine plate that was vibrating, but at the first service the dealer reported that it was indeed the engine, and that I should not pay any attention to it.
They also said that the other 650 they have as a demo made the same sound, and it does not have an engine plate.
Anyone here experienced the same?
The bike is now on 1400km, and the sound is still there.
Replies on the f800 forum ranged from piston slap to valve timing chain tensioner.
The latter makes sense, and the first I hope is far from correct...
