Engine Protection Bars

Can anyone tell me when/if there were any changes to the fittings for engine protection bars on the 12GS , i.e would a set from an 05 bike fit a '12 plated bike?

Yes, I'm showing my ignorance with the 1200 but hey, we all gotta start at the beginning.

I am guessing also that cyl head protectors need to be specific for the twin cam models?

What other bolt-ons etc would be compatible with the twin cam models from previous MY bikes and at what year would the compatability start/end from?

Taller screen?
Pannier racks?

thats a big question but,all luggage be it ally or varios are compatable with all years be it gs or gsa it you use with the appropriate mounts.seats both front and back are completely interchangable.engine bars and the like,its easy to check nippy normans and the like and compare their fitting applications.

the lower bars fit all years, uppers are different from 2008 onwards, cyl head guards are different from 2010 onwards for twin cam.
