Now we are getting near to the Independence Vote, I'd just like to say that a lot of us up here in the Highlands have noticed, especially with regards to ebay, that England is the only country that charges us extra for postal services. Thats assuming the seller will post to us in the first place.
What's really funny is that a lot of people say UK Mainland only, then won't post to Inverness, just wher the feck they think Inverness is i don't know.

Since Royal Mail parcel prices went up, lots of companies are using couriers to deliver and they want to charge more for Highlands and Islands postcodes, often for anything North of Perth. Of course that was always true if you were having something delivered that was larger than the Royal Mail would carry.

Indeed, all my courier services charge more for the Highlands. Royal Mail do not, but their service is limited and usually more expensive.

Unfortunately it would all get worse in the unlikely event of independence, as the Royal Mail is a UK body, we would be walking away from it... and every other UK institution, leaving us at the mercy of the unscrupulous couriers who think that Perth in in the Utter Hebrides....and they would think of a way of charging even more to a foreign country.......
