Gotta feel a bit of sympathy for the sweaty socks....there the moment has passed - it was very fleeting
I wasn't going to reply to this thread, but here I am, brace yourself.
Firstly, I have a bit of an issue with being called a sweaty, I don't like it, its a derogatory term. Stop using it.
Perhaps its not intended that way, but its childish and insulting.
I'm happy with the way we played this world cup, although not with the results.
Our players conducted themselves honourably, with dignity and a lot of pride. Our coaches did their best with what they had available to them. I think they got their tactics right, alas the results did not follow..
No apologies required to hotel waiting staff, no players cited for cynical tackles, no coaches expelled for cheating!
Our “big” match was last Sunday against Argentina.
The fact that we were denied a blatant “gimmie” penalty at the end by an English referee, frankly just boils my pish. We were through to the 1/4`s then. The fact that it was an English ref just makes it that much worse
Top 8, that's about where we are. Be honest, that's about where England are as well. I would have liked to console myself with a low points win against England and seen them face the All Blacks, even without Carter they would have shown you exactly where you are. But no, you get the French in the worst form I have ever seen them in !
Why have the officials been soo bad ? The Welsh were denied their victory against the Boks when the technology was in place to prevent such a poor decision. Cook knew he had it !
I'm going to enjoy the rest of the tournament, I played with some Kiwis in Aberdeen and have been a fan of the way they play the game for many years. They set the standard, everyone else tries to keep up.
Their results in the world cup don't reflect this.
My 50p is on them to win.
As for the next game
Allez les Bleus!
