English Weather

I know, FFS it's only a bit of snow!!! I mean when do the news channels (and don't get me started on them) ever run hours & hours of report showing Scot's folk making snowmen and sledging.

Heard a cracker on the Scottish news last night, they were interviewing a 70 year old man who still works gritting the roads, hes done it all his life, he says the scotts have gritt and not the stuff that goes on the roads. Not like down south 2 snow flakes and the country comes to a stand still, god i mean they have more gritters and ploughs in london than we do for the whole of Scotland. It makes me laugh.:JB:oonyack

Unfortunately there are probably more miles of road in London than there are in Scotland. Up here one road closure can mean a huge detour. Shut the A9 and you almost cut the country in half, at least as far as trunk roads are concerned. That General Wade has a lot to answer for!

Lord, grant that Marshal Wade
May, by thy mighty aid,
Victory bring.
May he sedition hush
And, like a torrent, rush
Rebellious Scots to crush.
God save the King.

Not alot has changed:augie

Would that be why Aberdeen airport was shut for a week or two when a snowflake appeared ?

:augie

....:mmmm....they heard you were coming ....:nenau

easy when you know why....:D

Oddly enough,Aberdeen doesn't feature on the longhaul route network-and never will with a runway no longer than one of HRH's skidmarks.

Dont know about it being shut, but i do know the helicopters are still flying. and a few of the deck crew flew up a couple o days ago by fix wing, that sounds like its open to me. :augie

Aberdeen has been shut, albeit only intermittently for a couple of hours here and there. A couple of the Eastern Airways flights into and from Wick had to be binned.

and your paint blends in a treat steve:thumb2 good to see you still patroling with the Uboat:thumb2

U a lurker in the SS as well then?

PS - Thanks for the warship / u-boat reference :thumb2

Aberdeen Airport is no more than a flying club with a few jets now and again. This is so frustrating especially when you want to go on Holiday. It does however fly to London which is the best bet to book your holiday from:rob
