ESA II, replace with normal Shocks

Just mulling something over in my mind and would appreciate any experience of:

Replacing their ESA II shocks with normal shocks?

If so, what effect did it have on the bike, warning triangle? or just a dead ESA button?

Also, what did you do with the wiring?
