My ESA preload wont change riding modes between one up and two up etc. Changes damping no problem, just not preload.

Does this need resetting maybe?

If so, anyone in North Wales or Chester area with a reset tool before I have to take it into the dealer? Will be a drink in it for you obviously!:beer:

I'm in NW (near Wrexham) and do have a GS 911.

You should hope that a software fix works, and try every option, as the hardware is quite expensive.

You may need to remove the shocks and see if the preload can be freed off. The front is (pretty much) impossible to keep clean so likely to seize up.

Well disconnected the battery, left it for a while, and bugger me, it only bloody fixed it! I had everything crossed as I have read horror stories.

OldCroc, I owe you a :beerjug:

Could be time to whip them off and do a thorough clean-up. One day you might want them for a Wilbers setup. ;)

Dang it - this made me check mine and it won't change!

Newbie here so stupid question - you change with a press and hold of the ESA button whilst stationary (engine running) correct?
If it won't change what might be wrong?

Press and hold the ESA button. After 5 to 10 seconds, the display will flash and (hopefully) the preload will move. There are 5 settings in total though the offload options also affect the damping.

Cheers bendy - it wasn't working but did this morning so not sure what I was doing wrong.

I cycle my ESA through its full range on preload settings every now and then to prevent things seizing up, same goes for the damping settings.

It might be a good habit to adopt ?? :nenau
