£50 to fix dodgy BMW gearThis has happened to me twice. Each time it has cost £50 at a BMW dealer (SBW Hertford) to fix.
A heavy pillion dismounts from the bike suddenly and the shock moves beyond/outside a limit setting of a transducer. The dealer connects the bike to a GT1, runs a software program to tell the ECU to ignore the out-of-tolerance warning (or whatever) and, hey presto!, it's working again.
Of course, you may not be so lucky.........
HTH,
John
