My 2011 R1200GS has developed an intermittent fault with its ESA.I was unable to alter the suspension settings using the ESA button on the left handlebar. You could toggle through the different settings but the mechanical adjustment wasn't carried out.The bike went into the local BMW dealer on Saturday and the problem will be investigated on Monday. It will be interesting to see what,if anything they discover.I tried the ESA again just before I left the bike in and it was working.I think its going to be difficult to determine the fault. The bike has now covered 20,000 miles and is still under warrantee.I will post again when I get the outcome.

Well I had a similar problem a couple of years ago. The ESA was shot. The dealer had to get the OK from BMW in Germany before they could replace it

ESA problem

I take it this happened while you were in France......:nenau

Don't know where you got the notion from that the problem happened in France? Anyhow I collected the bike from the dealer lastnight (5-2-13)The dealer ran a diagnostic test and discovered a fault code had been registered. They told me there had been a voltage surge but couldn't establish the cause. They didn't repair or replace anything. The ESA is working ok now,I was told to just ride the bike but take it back to the dealer if fault returns.
