ESA resets .....

I set my ESA to HARD (with ONE helmet)
....without the coding plug plugged in ..... after shut the bike down:
always returns to NORMAL
When the coding plug is in, it will stay on HARD after a few shut downs....
but after a while it returns to NORMAL (????)
Is how you turn off the bike? Key vs. Kickstand (or kill switch) ???

only thing I see in the manual is:
If the coding plug is not installed, the default set by the riding
mode is set after every mode change. If the coding plug is
installed, the rider's adjustments for every mode are maintained.

Are you talking about modes ie road, rain etc or just ESA suspension settings?
They are two different things altogether.
Mine will remember the mode from previous setting,if I turn off (key or sidestand) in road setting when I restart it will be the same,never use the kill switch.

My mode always stays the same (as set) ... Road - Rain - DYNA ......
that part works OK

It is the ESA .........the default is Normal, but I like it on Hard.
Over time it switches back to Normal.
Yet to figure out a pattern (of when it switches)

Ok now I may be wrong but I think your mode setting returns to default.

If you ride in dynamic it will automatically set sus to hard, in road it will set to normal and rain will be soft.
You can of course mod the esa in any mode ie dynamic but with soft sus, or road with hard ESA setting changing on the fly so to speak.
When you restart it sounds like your mode settings reset to factory options?
I don't know if this is normal and haven't checked mine.

Only the traction control and abs settings are retained from what the guy says.

Good video. Looks like those Aussie bikes all get a removeable headlight screen.
