7th November 11:30 services at Stansted M11/A120. Plan: to visit several hostelries and check their suitability to be hosts of such an esteemable group as GS riders.

If one can be found, I'm sure that they'll get better as the ride progresses, then we can declare it as the Essex winter meet venue.

In the warmer months I think we should decamp (that's not anything gay) to a coastal location.

I'd like someone who has experience of successful GS meets to come along and cast a judgemental eye over proceedings.

Ta....

Essex Venue

Due to outstanding apathy, exemplified by a zero turn out, I can't actually say I give a flyin' **** what happens to GS riders in Essex from here on in.

If anyone else feels compelled to waste their time, so be it, however as far as I'm concerned any further effort on my behalf would be futile.

Don't give up yet Mr Lamble, sometimes these things take time and Essex GSers have not had a reputation for doing much in the past in the way of getting together.

If you wait until the spring, then you're maximising the potential for an "Essex gathering. For what it's worth, between now and the first Spring meet, why not check out a good pub with plenty of parking space, serves a good ale, and, good grub. Then post up a date for the meeting (make sure it doesn't clash with any other south-east meet) and THEN, ask for people to post up whether they are going. Only then will you know whether you have a "goer" or not.

But good on yer for trying this time, who knows, if the pub you choose is a good'un maybe some fo us this side of the tunnel will come across the Thames and take in some of Essex's finest.

Essex geezer here.

Sorry I've been busy all wekend, maybe next time,
