In the process of fitting a Scottoiler eSystem to Spear Rulers 650 Twin.

Wired the negative wire to the - volts battery terminal and spliced the positive to +12 volts at back of the power supply socket on the tank.

Switch on the ignition and the eScottoiler display lights up, but when I press the start button and run the engine the display goes out about 10 seconds later. It is designed to stay on.

What have I done wrong.:nenau

Cheers,

Brian

You must connect it straight to the battery as the unit switches it self on and off automatically. If you connect it to a switched live the unit will keep resetting itself.:thumb

The Aux power socket is controlled by the canbus system, I would try running it via a fused relay, from the battery. Use your the Aux power supply to switch the relay.
Hope this helps...

If you use a relay triggered by a circuit brought on by the ignition, the eSystem will be powered up only when the engine is running.

Thanks for all the replies guys,

It would appear that it is wired directly to the battery and powers its-self off when it no longer detects the bike moving forward, whilst retaining the programmed input's.:thumb2

You got it right Ravenbyrne, as that is how i first wired mine in then wired to to a constant live and it works fine.
