Pretty sure the cooling system is unchanged on 1250
I had assumed that was the case and that Euro 5 was met by the shift cam and cat changes, but I could be wrong and would like to get the info from BMW.

To late he seen he was mentioned and decided to do a ghost, obviously has other things to do.

Bolting more "shite" onto my 1250![]()

I did say on my original post that i wasnt sure, and i stood to be corrected, seems i was sensible enough to add that caveat. Have a nice day![]()
I believe they increased Overall cooling capacity but I assume that’s bigger rads rather than internal changes.

Only if it is Euro 5 approved, ya thrifty![]()

Just read through all of the changes engine wise. Other than increased water capacity, the main change to keep combustion chamber temps down is an additional oil jet directed at the bottom of the piston crown.
So I guess they’ll have to start looking at either introducing some exotic metallurgy to the engine internals or just ensuring the engine will last for one PCP cycle or until the warranty expires.
Born again cynic me![]()

Unfortunately we live in a throw away society nowadays. But i dont know many who can afford to throw away an 18k bike every three years,![]()

So no additional water jackets, still just the valve cooling bit, I.e. partial cooling.

........
I personally was with my friend who is a top technical guy at BMW yesterday, and he is saying he is woorying about the life of the engines with these new emission standards.

Do you have a link?
I read through several Docs from bmw but this was the best for detail
