Euro breakdown cover

Does anyone have any experience of the BMW breakdown service? is it any good compared with the others? any recommends?

I'm going to Italy through Germany, Austria poss Swiss route this Sept but would also like cover for UK

Any ideas? Thanks

the bmw breakdown service is very good.
check out grossglockner in austria well worth a trip
cheap accom are the hostels of the world web site.or hotels at internet rates ibis etc.
and if your going on the motorway dont forget your vignet /austria have started a vignet too check before you go on the motorway as if u not got one its a on the spot fine .i was told its italy back into austria were they are keen but ask at petrol stns . have a good one.

Thanks, I've heard about these vignets but hoping to stay off the dull motorways. Slow amble down to Naples then motorrail back. Thanks for the tips.

Bmw breakdown service..

can vouch that the breakdown service thats part of your bikes warranty is A1 mate Saved my bacon in southern spain on way to Morocco. After a life of various jap sports tackle with typical "your on yer own now son" after sales attitude i was astounded at the level of courtesy this BMW service provided .Free hotel ,hire car ,taxis and able to carry on my trip when bike fixed by Bmw Barcelona!All i had to do was ring the number on the back of your key fob.
A Mate bought a v strom from a well known dealer and had a right old farce when he broke down abroad using suzuki warrantyonyack

Never had to use them, but was in Italy last week and one of the guys had a EWS failure at a service station on a toll road, BMW would not come out until the bike had been moved off the toll road by a local tow company…

BMW Warranty

A mate had a breakdown last week (common computer fault)
BMW were on the ball with getting assistance to him, his problems began with the contarctor!!

First of all they tried to strap his 1200Gs down with straps through the rims, tightening against the spokes

It took 10 hours to move it 56 miles.

and it appears that they dropped his bike whilst transferring between vehicles...

....TWICE


as its damaged on both sides

He is not a happy bunny... he should be collecting the bike at lunch today!

Dont think any breakdown company will, it's the same in france on the peage. The toll roads use their own contractors to remove vehicles from the motorways.
