Buger ... and I thought nobody would notice.

Best day in Germany was recommended by Ronno, from Koblentz to Trier along the banks of the Mosel and eventually finding a wee hotel in Konz

Went up and down there a good few times while I was stationed in Germany. Cochem was a favourite stopping place, had to check the wine was still up to scratch. :D

Glad you enjoyed the trip Gordon, makes me really really envious.

Any comments about my road position/general riding, I would very much appreciate it if you could jot them down on a piece of paper, fold it up, and stick it up your bottom. :thumb2

I'm sure you'd get the same effect if you crossed the Kessock Bridge at 5 mph :nenau

When are you going to post your route?

Here you go Al, remember I was going in a direction and not at a destination.

From the ferry I went South into Germany and stopped outside Bonn. Seemed as good a place as any to start.
From Bonn over to “the Ring” then onto Konz via Koblentz and Trier along the banks of the Mozel.
Still heading South and East.
From Konz past Luxemburg to Metz to Nancy to Epinal. D22 /D12 /D6. Good roads, sweeping bends.
From Epinal I took the D11 past Markenstein (sp?) up into the hills, very Alpish. Great views over to the French Alps form above the cloud. Then onto Belfort and finished with a fast run down towards Dijon.
From there I headed into the Bourgogne hills had a play and then further south towards Lyon. Stayed in a wee village called Lozanne.
Next morning I fecked up and went back North for a couple of hours, must remember to set my GPS with my glasses on! Turned around after 2 hours and headed for the Loir region. Past St Etien and out to a village called Confolent. Nice hotel with great food, stayed two nights. The view from my room.

1st November is a big French holiday and quiet roads. N88 heading south was fantastic, onto Millau briidge and start North towards Rodez, roads included D999 D33 D902 which continually go back on themselves, cucumber roads. When I got up in the morning I had to scrape the ice from my bike so I decided to stick to main roads.

I headed North towards Clermont, covered lots of miles on the good French roads, great coffee to in the petrol stations. And on to Nevers, nice town, reminded me a bit of Inverness.
D978, D944 and D9778 for a play on the West side of the Bourgogne and up past Auxerre.

From here I had a fast run up to Luxembourg where I spent the night in a wee hotel in the country. Restaurant was closed and couldn’t find anywhere else to eat but with 7 petrol stations along the road I had a sandwich and a very reasonably priced dram. Heading home now. Into Germany for a blast on the Autobahn, they drive seriously fast. And on to Holland where I came across a bit of a motorway jam, I came of at the next exit and got the Zumo to take me to a hotel about 5 miles from anywhere, nice hotel. Then onto the ferry, force 6 delayed us 4 hours and home through Glencoe in the wet, dark, cold and wind I wanted to stop at the Kings House but Id been away for 2 weeks!
Read 4 books, a line from one “All my life my heart has sought a thing I cannot name.”
What book?

Good pics. indeed.
What was the camera you used please ?
As I'm currently looking to get a better one and am rather undecided what to go for.
Thank you.

Ronno, Hunter S Thomson yes, but not the book I read :nenau Good call, you win a coffee :thumb2
Hustler, the bar mounted camera was the Tossers fav, Pentax Optimo W10.

The French bikers I talked to asked about the disk in the picture, I told them it was my tax disk, they didn’t understand. They knew what Tax was, explaining to me that several words have the same meaning throughout the world.
Tax, Beir and Fu{k. He went on to explain that they are linked.
Too much tax = no Beir, Too much Beir = no fu{k. The girls said that the night before they had too much Beir ;)
I liked meeting those guys :D:cool:
