Youngest daughter visiting N.I. next weekend, plus staying one night over the boarder with relatives (near Glaslough)

Will pubs and cafe’s take quids or does she need Euros?

Many thanks.....:aidan

North and South will take both Sterling and Euro....but if she want to use Euro down South it's best to buy the Euro before hand (handiest to get it from a Southern ATM) as pubs and cafés don't always give the rate.

Glaslough should be alright, I'm sure there's plenty of cross border trade ;), but away from the border only hotels will give her an exchange.
But a southern ATM will spit out Euro even from a UK account. And at a better exchange rate than a hotel.
Or she could just pay the pub / cafe with her card which would save her having Euro left over.

Many thanks for the replies.

I have taken your advice and advised her to use a Southern ATM if She needs some Euros. We all know that She won't take a blind bit of notice of what I say, and will just go off and do whatever enters her head on the day....

We tried....Thank you......:thumb

Glaslough is one of those places where it will be all right on the night, and without too much extracting of the urine too!
