I'm in the chair, bar is open, what can I get you ?
Peanuts over there, some crisps somewhere, and it's the shortest day as well.
Anyway, I've finally succumbed and bought my first ever airhead.
R100GS.
1989.
The only tinsy little problem I have with it is the sidestand.
I've been searching and reading and trying the advice Proff has given me.
But I suspect, for me, MiGSel is going to be the way forward.
If he has any of course and I have emailed and asked him.
Anyway, I'm waffling, what can I get you ?

Evening Squire, Welcome to the Gentlemans section...:beerjug:

unless I throw a wobbly :D

If Mick DB1 is in here tonight, please most a pic of your modded one, I think that would sort Hustler out .......:thumb2

Good to have another airheader around. Welcome.
Migsel did it for me. The new stand's quite a tight fit but well worth it. :thumb2

I'm in, single malt whisky for me, splash of water.

Migsel sidestand is brilliant, very useable. But i've seen some good backstreet bodges as well, much cheaper usually:thumb2

Cheers

So is it easy to fit Old Man ?
I've done some reading on the forum here and the synopsis seems to be very good, but expensive.
But hey, it's Christmas so I'm sure I can buy my new bike a present.

Here's a pic of mine with the Migsel sidestand

That's me Mick,
My legs aren't long enough, bendy enough to operate the stand.
So Santa's going to treat me to a MiGSel version.

Another option is a stand by Ernie at 'Overland Solutions', but he would need the bike for a while as he welds a lug onto the frame in a more conventional spot, then makes a chunky stand with a large foot. Great quality. Highly recommended.

It's very easy to fit but on my bike (and a couple of others I've heard about) it was tight between the frame and the exhaust. It is an excellent stand though.

My migsel stand did'nt fit with the y piece i had fitted, but i fitted the standard box back and all is rosy now, the runs better as well:thumb2

Another vote here for Migsel, not cheap, but sooo nice.

Mr. MiGSel told me he hoped to get it mine in the post today so it should be leaving Belgium as we speak.

Not cheap no, but Father Christmas has agreed to buy it for me as I've been a good boy this year.

Welcome aboard Hustler. :thumb2

I was going to mention the extension arm that some of us have welded on the the oe sidestand.

But I see you've sorted the problem. Well done :thumb2 Good bits of kit that Migsel makes.

Val.
