Ever heard of or fitted a Shock Tube

It is an absorbant neoprene tube that you put round the shock, so that when it rains instead of the powdercoated waterproof metal bits just drying off, the neoprene gets wet and stays that way for a far longer period, and there by, somehow prolonging the life and good looks of the shock that you cant see because you put a big black soggy wet sock round it, or somthing like that I think.

Something like that, it may also keep the heat in and ensure shock fade is faster and more regular :thumb

Probably great for those that rarely ride more than a few miles to their local pub bike night once a month and want to keep that "never left my postcode" look.

I have something like that called a 'lizardskin' on the shock on my downhill mountain bike, it just fits on with velcro, no cable ties required. It works well on the pushbike for keeping the vast quantities of mud out of the shock. Always take it off after a wet ride to dry out.
Definately better than having a shock seize up due to ingress of shite - happened to me on a previous downhiller, - landed from big jump, shock seized, - ripped shock mount off frame, somehow I didn't fall off!:D

I have a pair of Touratwat or Wonder-lick ones on my GS. They do keep the crap off the upper part of the forks, but whether that benefit is worth the £20-ish they cost is open to debate. On the other hand, when did anyone let benefit get in the way of adding more farkles?

more for your hard core off roader mud monkey really, in that situation they do a very good job .

but for road riding a bit of a waist of cash
