Ewan or Charley, who does it for you?

Big difference between Mondo Enduro/Terra Circa and the LWR boys was that the latter was a well planned, very well funded 'jolly' to promote themselves and their careers albeit under the auspices of UNICEF. I enjoyed the series when it was shown but, it was spoiled by the fact that the boys thought that audience were gillible enough not to believe they hadn't invisaged a TV show from it's conception.

The lad's who did the first two trips did them on very tight budgets and had alot more fun. Austin Vince, the narrator on ME & TC, gave a very entertaining talk on the trips at the first Horizons meet we attended a couple of years ago. I wonder If Ewan or Charley will attend this year?

....although i have the greatest admiration for living their dreams.....
...its got to be Claudio every time for me.........
not in a physical way...but more in a ...'wanting to make him a cuppa and listening to the anecdotes not seen or heard about the trip' kind of way

....anyway Kirst...whats this doing on the dealers thread....

Neither does it for me either, but Ewan would be more likely to I suspect.....Charlie's got blubbery lips :D :D

I liked the book and the dvd/series.....yes there was a lot of moaning perhaps, but I felt that was because it was a more honest portrayal of the trip showing warts and all.....anyone on a trip like that is going to have a bicker, a tantrum or a full blown row and I found it refreshing that they showed that aspect rather than dressing it all up to be totally macho and all heroic.....it made it all far more real for me.

I have watched the dvd and read the book, enjoyed them both. As for the whinging, A friend and I bought bikes in the states spent 3months there and covered 10000 miles.we did our fare share of whinging. I could really relate to Ewan and Charley and some of the feelings and emotions they went through. I agree with timolgra in away, there seems to be a lot of people in total awe of what they did. We booked our flights on a wed night (very drunk at the time) and flew to states on the sat. Bought a couple of bikes( sv650 and a firestorm) when we got there, had no plans were we would go and everything I had with me fitted in my tank back. Give me the support and backing they had and I am sure I could do the same as I am sure most of you on here could. I am not trying to take anything away from what they did it was there dream to ride around the world and they did it and I really enjoyed watching them do it. wouldnt shag either of them but would like to buy Claudio a drink or two and get his version of the trip.

u sexy mother :eek::eek::eek:er - now doesnt prince do it for you - re mcewan boreman - who really gives a shit

Just been up to Crewe/Blue Bell M'cycles for a talk by Charley Borman, v enternaining and on closer look, I can see why girls (and boys for that matter) can fall for him - quite well toned, down to earth, in fact earthy !!!
