Hi had phone call from chap today who said there was a recall out for the EWS ring(have seen link for that one) Front shock IF you have ESA fitted, and LED rear light, too bright apparently? can anyone confirm these recalls, I have an 08 GS , should I be watching for the postman?!

Might be called campaigns ;)

Why not call your dealer for some facts on whether your bike is affected, rather than some opinions from us :nenau

Just had my EWS sorted at Coopers (mill at Boldon) this week. If thats where you got your bike from give them a ring. Mine needs the front shock doing but they are having to get the parts from Germany on back order. Perhaps they could order yours at the same time.

Not heard of the rear LED's being too bright before, doesn't sound a bad thing to me.

The front shocks AND the front forks were replaced on my '08 GS but not because of a recall. The front shock was leaking and the front forks were binding. Now that the shocks/forks are replaced I can actually feel the ESA working.

I'm just waiting on a letter for the EWS ring. I figure the letter is bound to come sometime.

A bright rear brake light doesn't sound like a problem. :D

Not so nice for the people following you if they can't tell when you put the brakes on. Guess it'd be like following someone engine braking, but it'll trip you up the time a car gets too close and you want to warn them that you're slowing for a hazard they might not be looking for?

Other than that I guess it'd be good to be seen, so long as you're not blinding people.

Good point i'd not thought of.

So what happens at the recall 'campaign', new board fitted with less/weaker LED's :nenau

EWS

I just popped in to my dealer, have a 07 GSA and yes there is a campaign on the antenna. however they are not sending out the letters until the get the tool from BMW, without the tool its a lenghty akward job (apparently)
